EDMIC 2019: DRIVERS AND DYNAMICS OF CHANGE IN THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT

Recent trends in built environment practices have revealed major and sustained changes in the direction of economies of nations, society and the environment. Globalization, institutional and structural reforms, liberalization of global financial markets, changing economic policies, technological innovations and advancements; environmental sustainability, rapid urbanization, economic pressures and growth of emerging market economies are some of the key drivers of change in the structure, practices and overall functioning of the built environment. These issues are nonetheless important determinants of the future direction of the workings of our society as well as informing how we navigate that future.

The objectives of the conference therefore is to scrutinize these issues and examine the strategies that could be used to reinforce teaching, research, innovation and the overall knowledge and skill product delivery for the development of our society in general and the built environment profession in particular.

TARGET PARTICIPANTS

This conference is targeted at researchers, practitioners, policy-makers in government parastatals and non-governmental organizations and all who are involved in research, innovation management, and knowledge and skill product delivery in the built environment.
