The laboratory is equipped with the state-of-the art facilities required to upgrade the research profile of researchers (academics/students) and thus enable the university to provide strategic leadership in research and development that will earn her added recognition nationally and internationally. The laboratory’s operations complements faculty/department facilities thereby providing the university a competitive advantage over other institutions in the country. The laboratory provides a basis for the necessary synergy in the university’s research programmes as well as encourages exchange of ideas thereby setting the university at a high research pedestal.

The Central Science Laboratory is categorized into five sections according to the spatial location of the instruments/equipment viz:
