Mission
The mission of the Centre for Gender and Social Policy Studies (CGSPS) is to establish an adequate institutional base for the inter-disciplinary study of gender, child survival, development and social policy. The Centre also organizes training, research, policy design and action programmes in the identified areas, and encourages networking locally and internationally.

Objectives

1. Expand and consolidate the university’s focus on gender and social policy issues;
2. Promote interdisciplinary research and policy on gender and development;
3. Promote advocacy on gender equity and participation;
4. Build local and national capacities on gender and social development planning and policy analysis through teaching, training, consultancy, documentation and networking
5. Maintain a database for all research on gender and social policy issues
