The Centre for Gender and Social Policy Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife is a Centre of Excellence for interdisciplinary study of Gender and Development issues. It was established in 1996 by the University to consolidate and expand its interest on issues relating to the welfare of women and children. The Centre is also to develop relevant social and economic policy guidelines for the country to overcome poverty and ensure sustainable development.
