About ARIAL & Objectives

The intention of atmospheric research at ARIAL is to create a multidisciplinary research environment to develop and apply techniques of basic physics, basic and applied mathematics, nuclear techniques, materials science and instrumentation, and other related sciences in such a way as to make atmospheric science an issue of significant economic importance, and especially useful to supporting the economies and human resource development of developing countries.

Hence attention is being paid to basic and associated research interests such as sensors, monitoring systems development to support of systematic observation and networks design. Others include the development and application of emission control systems, the assessment of atmospheric boundary layer pollution, global climate change and their impacts.

Attention is also being paid to numerical modeling of atmospheric general circulation, regional climate modeling and upper atmospheric physics starting from the physics of the ozone layer. These are to be supported by studies to ensure an improved understanding of biosphere-atmosphere interactions.
