Over
the years, the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has had
some linkages and interactions with other institutions, mainly

Since its
inception, the OAU
has benefited from linkages with other institutions in
the areas of staffing assistance, staff development, curricula
development and scholarships for graduate training. Over
the years, the unfavorable military administrations and
their policies led to a decline in collaboration. However,
the changing political environment coupled with the poor
funding situations have necessitated the need for renewed
partnerships with not only educational institutions but
with the private sector as well. This has informed the
upgrading of the Linkages Office to the status of a full
directorate - the Directorate of linkages and Sponsored
Research with 3 units:
(i) The Office of Partnerships
(ii) The Office of Research Management
(iii) The Office of Academic Exchange
In future on this site,
you will find information on
An
alumni database which will include the list of honorary
graduates
Databess
of Friends of OAU, to be made up of those who, in particular,
have had interactions with the University,
either as Faculty Staff or visitor as well as those who
may wish to identify with what the university
stands for.
