4-DAY TRAINING WORKSHOP: WIFI Network Setup and Admin I

The information Technology and Communication Unit (INTECU) of this University is organizing series of professional training programmes. The first in the series will be coming up between April 21 and 24, 2008 at 10am daily in the training Room, INTECU, Computer Building Complex.

The training is focused on WIFI Network Setup and Administration I (BASICS). The programme will cover among other things:

• - Overview of 802.11 Networks.
• - 802.11 MAC Fundamentals
• - 802.11 Frame in Details/ Management Operations
• - Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP)
• - User Authentication with 802.1X
• - Hands-On Practical Session.

The cost of the training is #40,000.00 per participant. This amount covers the (i) course fee and (ii) training Materials.

Please be informed that this training formed the foundation for the Advance Training on WIFI Network Setup and Administration II (Advanced) coming up between May 26-29, 2008. It will focus on the followings:

• - Management Operations
• - 802.11i Robust Security Networks, TKIP & CCMP
• - Frequency Hopping (FH) PHY
• - Direct Sequence PHY: DSSS & HR/DSSS (802.11b)
• - 802.11a & 802.11j: 5 GHz OFDM PHY
• - Using 802.11 Access Points.
