Policy
In pursuant of INTECU’s goals and objectives , the following policies have been adopted:

Staff Development
  • INTECU develops its IT staff by providing on-the-job learning experiences in project management, customer service and in other technical disciplines and acquiring supervisory skills;
  • INTECU seeks collaboration with research institutions and other professional outfits for staff training exchange programmes;
  • INTECU sponsors at least one staff per year on International Seminars/conferences/Training programmes, etc. in order to keep abreast of new developments in ICT technology;
  • INTECU continuously evaluates its work practices and programmes in order to ensure a proper working environment.

Computing Services

INTECU is aware of and desirous of providing prompt, accurate, and appropriate responses to user requests. It will enhance synergies among university departments, institutes, divisions, units and agencies, encouraging complementary activities and mutual awareness among the many existing and emerging initiatives, and supporting replicating and scaling up of successes. The scope of computing services will include:

(a) System Support

  • This refers to issues relating to the use of computers on campus, including computer repair, consulting, documentation, and software support agreements and site licenses;
  • Development of a model for an effective end-user support system that addresses customer needs on applications, operating systems, browsers, etc.

(b) General Computing

  • Development of a model for broad and effective IT Training;
  • Enhancement of the flow of technical information and communications across the campus and increasing faculty and student familiarity with IT services and enhancing their ability to use them by providing easy methods.

(c) Administrative Computing

INTECU, in collaboration with the University Computer Centre, will be deeply involved in efforts to automate the administrative system by:

  • Providing progressive computing systems that would enable the University’s administrative units to process, keep track of and report their business transactions efficiently;
  • Providing support in data access, reporting, application development, selection, administration and enterprise warehousing of databases;
  • Developing methods and disciplines that increase ability to complete projects within scope and budget
