INTECU has commenced a pilot WIFI/Wireless reception test on campus. The first antenna installation is located on the University Library roof and covers a line of sight radius of about 100 meters. Only PCs and Laptops with Wireless cards will be able to connect to OAUNET through the WIFI. The big advantage of WIFI is its simplicity, you can connect computers anywhere without the need for wires. It eliminates most of the cable problems associated with Local Area Networks.  

If you have a laptop or you would prefer to install a card on your pc, please come to INTECU for advice on the best type of card for your system.  

Those who already have wireless cards on their systems should please test the reception and send a feedback to intecu@oauife.edu.ng so that we can evaluate the present coverage and strength. It is intended that more antennae will be installed at other locations in phases until majority of the campus is covered.
