Undergraduate programme is structured to give relevance to geographic training in terms of enhanced job opportunities for graduates and greater capacity to contribute to national development. The courses emphasize the philosophy of geography, population education, computer literacy, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing. To be eligible for the award of a degree of B.Sc. (Geography), a candidate must satisfactorily complete the minimum of 150 units and 126 units of course work for UME and Direct Entry respectively. This would involve successfully completing the approved University Special Electives (12 Units), approved Faculty of Social Sciences courses (24 units for UME; 12 units for Direct Entry) and approved Departmental Compulsory and restricted electives course(114 units for UME, 102 units for Direct Entry). The candidate must also complete other requirements indicated by the university.
