Message
from the Dean
Vision
At present, the
Dean’s office, in addition to the routine activities, is trying hard
to go into partnership with Faculty Alumni and Alumnae, as well as
other scientists and the private sector in a drive to attracting
more facilities to the Faculty. At the same time, efforts are being
made to rekindle the interest of our young colleagues and students
in basic science by emphasizing the importance of each discipline in
Industry, Technology and daily routine activities of man. Many of
our young colleagues from different Departments are undergoing
training leading to PhD in various institutions abroad. In addition,
capacity building through postgraduate training of staff on ground,
seminars, workshops and conferences are also be encouraged and
pursued vigorously. It is gratifying, however, to note that many of
our alumni are doing well in private and public sectors and
contributing effectively to socio-economic development.
Objectives
- To
coordinate the academic and administrative activities of
the Faculty and forward recommendations to the
appropriate committees and units of the University.

To provide administrative support/service to the
Departments within the Faculty.

To keep the routine operations of the Faculty office
running smoothly.

To deal with all student’s administrative matters in
respect of screening of freshmen credentials and
keeping of student’s records.

To keep the records of Technical and Academic staff
up to Senior Lecturer cadre.
Goals
The
goals of the Dean’s office are as follows:
- To
build a viable Mini Registry, that will provide
necessary administrative support services to the
Departments in the Faculty to enable the University
achieve maximally some of its academic and
administrative goals within the limits of the resources
available.

To process through the appropriate University
committees, recommendations/papers in respect of
staff and students’ matters.

Matters pertaining to appointments, promotions,
confirmation of appointments, retirement and
determination of appointments to be processed
expeditiously to the appropriate quarters.
