AREA OF SPECIALIZATION

Phytochemistry, Natural Products Chemistry, Microbial Transformation of Natural Products, Biological Screening of Nigerian Medicinal Plants and Herbal Medicines


RESEARCH INTEREST:

1. The general research focus is geared towards the critical and scientific evaluation of folkloric claims on the Nigerian Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine. My thrust includes activity-directed isolation and identification of biologically active agents from crude drugs obtained locally with an ultimate aim of drug development.



2. I am interested in interdisciplinary collaborative efforts among related Scientists such as Pharmacologists, Botanists, Natural Products Chemists, Sociologists and Anthropologists within and outside Nigeria in the areas of anti-infective, antimalaria, fertility-regulation, cardiovascular and molluscicidal researches.
