The main objective of the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development is to produce graduates with the requisite knowledge, skills and attitude in the agricultural development process, and who possess the competence to effectively transmit such skills to farmers
Our programmes in the Department are well tailored to meet the needs and aspirations of the labour market as well as a growing body of budding entrepreneurs. The production of agricultural commodities to meet domestic and foreign market demand along with remunerative employment to our graduates have remained the central philosophy of the Faculty over the years. Our programmes have been evolving to cater for these changing needs.
