The Faculty of Agriculture is one of the first five faculties with which the University started functioning in 1962. In the 1967/68 academic session, the Faculty was one of the first units of the University to transfer to the permanent site at Ile-Ife.

Our programs in the various Departments are well tailored to meet the needs and aspirations of the labour market as well as a growing body of budding entrepreneurs. The production of agricultural commodities to meet domestic and foreign market demand along with remunerative employment to our graduates have remained the central philosophy of the Faculty over the years. Our programs have been evolving to cater for these changing needs.
