The Institute of Administration established in 1963 was transformed into a Faculty of Administration by a resolution of Senate at its meeting on Friday,5 th March, 1976 with an initial three departments. By 1979, however another department, that of Local Goverment Studies was added. Presently, the Faculty is made up of four departments viz:
- The Department of Public Administration
- The Department of International Relations
- The Department of Management and Accounting, and
- The Department of Local Government Studies
The Faculty strives to create an environment of opportunity, learning, and collaboration among students, teachers and other units of the University. This partnership begins when students apply for courses in the Faculty and continues throughout their stay in the Faculty, until they graduate and finally as alumni. The Faculty of Administration offers a synergy of deep intellectual insight, excellence of ideas and robust teaching that makes a difference not only in the lives of our students but which also impacts positively on people and their daily lives.
