The administrative offices at each college/faculty/Unit offer specialized services to meet the needs of their faculty, students, and staff.  These offices are headed by administrative officers of the rank of Senior Assistant Registrar.

VICE-CHANCELLOR'S OFFICE

OBJECTIVES
  1. To act as Liaison Centre between outside bodies and various Units in the University.
  2. To establish good relationships and communication between various Units in the University.
  3. To assist the Chief Executive in efficient and effective performance of his duties.
  4. To process for the Vice-Chancellor's consideration and decision as appropriate, all administrative and academic matters referred to the Vice-Chancellor.
  5. To ensure efficient functioning of the Vice-Chancellor's Secretariat.
  6. To facilitate harmonious relationship between the Administration and other stakeholders.

MISSION/GOAL
Definite Short-term Goals

  1. To assist the Vice-Chancellor in accomplishing set goals and mission of the University through the provision of qualitative and up-to-date administrative, managerial and other support services.
  2. To facilitate the functioning and operations of the Vice-Chancellor through the application of time-efficiency and cost-efficiency procedures.
  3. Liaison between the Vice-Chancellor and external bodies, both public and private.

Definite Long-term Goals

  1. To develop the administrative machinery of the Vice-Chancellor's Office to internationally acceptable standards.
  2. To facilitate the creation of a culture of cooperation between staff and students, and of commitment to the goals of the Institution.
  3. To project a corporate image for the University thereby creating more fertile grounds for quality Public-Private Partnership.
ACTIVITIES
  1. Organizing all the administrative activities and logistics of the offices of the Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellors.
  2. Keeping of important records of meetings which the Vice-Chancellor holds with internal and external agencies and individuals.
  3. Management of Ad-hoc Committees, Top Management meetings and other emergency matters.
  4. Taking follow-up actions of Vice-Chancellor's mails, correspondence, and attending to the Vice-Chancellor's public engagements.
  5. Acting as Liaison Office between the outside bodies, Ministries and the various units in the University and facilitating the management of staff and students crises by the Chief Executive.
  6. Processing for the Chief Executive's approval, various recommendations of Investigation Panels, Panels of Enquiry, Committees of Examinations Malpractices, Students Disciplinary Panels, Committee on Students Crisis etc.
  7. Processing for Executive Approval all financial requests, permission to travel, applications for Sabbatical leave/leave of absence/study leave and defreezing of positions for appointment.
  8. Servicing the Housing Allocating Committee, University Research Committee, University Medical Board and other related administrative bodies.
  9. Working in liaison with other relevant Units to attend to the Vice-Chancellor's public relations assignments.
  10. Dealing with such other matters and undertaking such other functions as the Vice-Chancellor may direct from time to time.
