Ogunbodede Applauds ACIB/OAU-MBA Executive Linkage Program

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede has expressed his readiness to consider new ideas and collaborations that would further bring development to the University, such that the University’s advancement would be fast-tracked, even as he applauded the offer overtures for partnership made by the executive Council of Chartered Institutes of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) to the university.

Professor Ogunbodede made this known while receiving a delegation from the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria(CIBN) which was in the University to work out modalities that would ensure the smooth take-off of the ACIB-fused programmes for students in the Department of Management & Accounting.

While promising the Institute the unflinching support of the University authorities, he assured that OAU is the ideal place for the programme to thrive, citing the African Centre of Excellence, the ICT hub of the University and the large number of professors in the University as unique factors that distinguish OAU from other Universities.

He equally maintained that the Obafemi Awolowo University is ready to explore collaborations that will make its students think ‘outside the box’ and be enlightened with new ideas relevant in the twenty-first (21st) century.

In his remarks, the leader of the delegation, Professor Pius Olanrewaju told the Vice-Chancellor and other principal officers that stakeholders of the banking sector discovered and acknowledged a lack in its industrial framework, which, according to him, necessitated the need for banks to consult the universities in a genuine effort to fill the vacuum and bridge the gap.

He further gave assurance that the Institute would give a full backing to the University so as to make the programme an enviable model not only in the country and on the continent, but also in the comity of world renowned Universities.

Professor Olanrewaju thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the warm reception and firm assurance received from the University’s administration.
