OGUNBODEDE THE RIGHT MAN FOR OAU – LAOYE-TOMORI

The Deputy Governor, State of Osun,Otunba Grace Titi Laoye-Tomori has described the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede as a seasoned academia and administrator of international standing, whom God has positioned to return OAU to its lost glory.

Otunba Laoye-Tomori who made this remarks while being received into the University by the VC for the opening ceremony of the retreat for Deans, Heads of Departments and Units, among others organized by the Staff Training and Development/ Industrial Relations Unit.

She said OAU is lucky to have Ogunbodede as the Vice-Chancellor, giving the hint that she has known him for many years as a God-fearing man with integrity, noting that he will deliver as the University’s helmsman.

In her words: I want to congratulate this University for having a Vice-Chancellor who is a round peg in a round hole. He is brilliant, God fearing and a man of integrity. He is not only an egg head, but also a well renowned academia, and I know he will turn OAU around again.

The Deputy Governor also had kind words for the University, calling it one of the best in Africa, “OAU as a great University is also named after a great man, Obafemi Awolowo, and it’s good to associate with Great Ife because you’re still one of the best in Africa”.

She further stated that the alumni of Great Ife have been representing the University well as prominent persons in Nigeria and abroad.

“Everywhere in Nigeria, OAU has made landmark achievements in all areas. You have produced most of the best brain in Nigeria, and your alumni have been making waves as illustrious and prominent people.” She stressed.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ogunbodede appreciated the Deputy Governor for the unflinching support the University has enjoyed over the years, restating his absolute commitment to the development of the Obafemi Awolowo University.
