OAU HONOURS FORMER REGISTRAR IN HISTORIC WELCOME

It was a gathering of eminent and renowned personalities, both past and present, of the Obafemi Awolowo University family at the Ajose lecture theatre, as the Vice chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede led other Principal Officers and the entire University community to a reception of a foremost former Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council of the University, Dr. Doyinsola Ojutiku.

Dr. Ojutiku, who was the University’s Registrar from 1992-1996, had come to the University to share her wealth of experience as the Guest Speaker in an interactive session organized by the University administration.

In her remarks, the former Registrar thanked the University administration for the opportunity given her to be the guest speaker at the interactive session, while also using the opportunity to thank former Registrars, and her co-workers during her time as the Registrar.

She equally commended the University for the cordially, good rapport and healthy relationship she noticed among the Staff, starting from the Principal officers, and said that was the way to go in ensuring the progress of the University is uninterrupted.

In her presentation titled, ‘Who Am I: THE RHEOTERICAL QUESTION OF A UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATOR’, the former Registrar reflected on the role of a modern day administrator in the University system.
She used the medium to call on the University’s workforce to imbibe teamwork and like mindedness with good human relationship, emphasizing that the development of the University depends on these.
“For the limited time we have, let us lift this institution with like mindedness and upholding of values of the Universities through humane relationship with others.”

Also, the former Registrar tasked the University on accountability and transparency, adding that there should be no room for suspicion. Rather promotion of dialogue and rapport.

She explained that: “We must always be correct and dependable in our words, we must also eradicate suspicion between the ranks and promote dialogue and relationship among ourselves.”

In his remarks, the Vice chancellor, Prof.Ogunbodede on behalf of the entire university community, expressed gratitude to the guest speaker for her relentless service to the University, calling her a seasoned and quintessential administrator per excellence. He also emphasized the importance of honouring pastunsung heroes of the University who have worked tirelessly during their time in OAU.
